Many of us have either a laptop, desktop, or anoth Many of us have either a laptop, desktop, or another type of system to work for school, business, or any other reason. And one of the main components that go along with that is that we're constantly creating or gathering data using them. So one of the important things is that you want to make sure that you're able to save those crucial files somewhere where they're going to be accessible and if something happens to that system. And at one day goes caput. You're not losing all that data that you've created or gathered.

Here are six different storage types that you can use to make sure you have your files and data backed up if your computer dies. Make sure to use more than one because you never want to rely on just one.

1. USB Drive - Portable data storage that you can plug into a USB port.
2. Flash Drive - Portable data storage similar to the USB drive, but it is a "Solid State" Device (SSD).
3. External Hard Drive (HDD) - Hard Disk Drives rely on spinning disks to read and write data. It can fail if handled too roughly, or you accidentally drop it (happened to me). Heavier and use more energy than SSDs.
4. External Hard Drive (SSD) - Do not rely on moving parts so it's more durable than HDDs. However, it does not hold as much data as HDDs.
5. Cloud Drive - A virtual drive that is usually hosted in an external provider's data center
6. Mapped Network Drive - Storage that is physically located on another computer or on-premise server.

Which ones are you using?

IT has changed. Before it was all about having technical skills, but now IT has turned into a more business-centric industry.

How did your day go? Today started off feeling sle How did your day go? Today started off feeling sleep deprived because the baby decided that staying awake from 2 AM until 5:30 AM was a good idea.

I then attended meetings with my teams where we discussed work. My son and I painted the stair railings and front door for lunch before having leftover yakisoba that I made last night.

I am now drained but happy that I could still be productive even though I am didn't have a whole night's sleep. I know that it's also like that in the first year of a baby's life. 😴 🏠 💻

Using 3 emojis, tell me how your day is going so far!

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could relax instead o Wouldn’t it be nice if you could relax instead of juggling all the different responsibilities you have in your everyday life, including house cleaning? Today is National No Housework Day.

It’s a good reminder that you don’t have to tackle everything yourself. You can either delegate other family members to clean, outsource to a cleaning service, or specify days and times to do the house chores. This also goes with other tasks that you have on your to-do list. If you get 3-5 things done, then you are doing great!

I know that I sometimes try to be superwoman, but then I have to remind myself that I am only human.

C’mon friend, it’s time to take a load off!

In the story of my life, I’ve always felt like I In the story of my life, I’ve always felt like I was living a life full of obstacle after obstacle. Even so, I picked myself up and continued moving forward. I had two kids who depended on me, so I had to remain strong and thrive. Now, I’m just got my Information Security MBA, I love being a Program Manager at an IT consulting company, not living paycheck-to-paycheck, and I am blessed to have my grandson with me.

Guess what? The story isn’t finished yet! I love remembering lessons, successes, and failures of my past while knowing that for now, the story of my life reads, “To be continued…” And if I do say so myself, this winding journey is what makes me a great working mom who knows about balance in all aspects of my life!

What’s an element of your story most people wouldn’t expect to hear?
